Day 6: Leaving Fair London

Today I actually managed to sleep in! I woke up after 7:00am instead of before it. Got my things packed, brushed my (still a bit distraught from the hair straightener incident) hair, and went to breakfast with KP. We met Aunty L downstairs and stuffed our faces as usual, appreciating the final breakfast we had there. Croissants, pastries, yogurt, cereal and fruit -- everyone one might need for breakfast! It was all grande. But, little did we know the next couple hours would be less than ideal! Having left the hotel, we passed the shuttles that led to the Heathrow airport and opted to take the train, but unfortunately there was a bit of a problem. Circle lines and picadilly circus were closed! So we backtracked two or three times on the underground before someone told us the proper way to get to the airport, and lo and behold the express we had to take cost like $90! That is compared to the $40 the bus would have taken initially, plus the hassle of carrying our bags back and forth on the train. Actually whether it was pounds or Canadian dollars I can't really recall, but it was a damn expensive ticket for what it was, considering the bus shuttle is only $40 and our mad detour didn't help our comfort much.
So now I am on the flight (it is a relatively small plane with two rows of three), and my ears are popping. I had a fantastic time in London! So glad I was able to go. I am really going to miss this place, because it was such a great city. The people are nice too. Aunty Liia and Uncle D tell us that we will be even more impressed with the other places we are going to, so we will have to take their word for it. As of yet, London left a great impression on me.
Up next: Scotland!
