Day 19: I'm on a Boat

This morning we woke up at 5:00AM again, only this time I had a morning call, and Uncle D waking us up, and a second morning call. We got everything packed and ready and headed out the door at about 6:15AM, and boarded the highspeed boat bringing us to Mykonos at around 7:00AM. We got some food on board and nervously left our luggage in the luggage bin, and were left to our own devices as we waited for three or so hours. The water is so smooth right now, it's like looking at glass outside the window. And we're on the Aegean Sea! I can also see little white birds skimming over the ocean.

We got to Mykonos, and instantly it looked like Greece is expected to look. Rocky hills, white houses, and blue and white all over! We enjoyed some time in the pool at our very nice hotel called the Argo. Then afterward we went for a walk on the beach (just KP and I) and I have to say, I was pretty surprised by all the chairs and umbrellas on the beach. There was really hardly any room on the beach to build sandcastles or anything of the sort -- it's all taken up by the chairs!

Apparently Shakira was here only two days beforehand, performing for a wedding. They had marvelous fireworks that you could see all through the southern coast of Mykonos. First we miss Metallica, now we miss Shakira -- but hey, at least we're in Greece! It's so hot, I'm very glad we have a pool just a few steps outside our door.
